SPRING CUP 21/22 WINNERS
CHANGING ROOMS
The Portakabin that is used for changing rooms was formally a doctor’s surgery. Purchased in 1986 to replace the changing rooms that were lost when the bypass was built. It was decided in the summer of 2019 that some refurbishment was needed. The first job was to replace the paths leading to the building. The outside of the Portakabin was painted and new felt was laid on the roof. Work began again the following summer. The inside was stripped, and a stud wall built to separate the kitchen from the home dressing room. The walls and ceilings were repaired and painted. New benches and tables were built for the dressing rooms. The kitchen had new cupboards fitted. The kitchen and bathroom were decorated. New fittings were installed throughout the building to make it as safe as possible for Covid 19. New lighting was then installed replacing the old fluorescent lights with LED Strip lights. Finally, Astro turf was laid, new fencing erected in front of the Portakabin, and new signs and notice boards were put up.
All the work was carried out by volunteers, thanks to Rodney Mullens, Myles Woodward, Martyn Spratt, Sam Spratt, Tom O’Brien, and Sam Roberts.
